About EHV

Media reports from Arizona say there are four other cases reported, and that California and New Mexico had closed their borders to horses arriving or leaving.

The Kansas Animal Health Department said there were no reported cases in the state, and at this stage no movement restrictions were to be imposed on horses entering Kansas.

One horse from Kansas attended the National Cutting Horse Association's Western National Championships in Utah, which appears to be "ground zero" for EHV-1. However, the Kansas horse was then shipped to Nebraska and is currently under quarantine near Lincoln.
