The open forums were announced at last week's FEI Bureau meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The intention of the forums is to initiate discussion on the future of the discipline, and a discussion paper would be produced after the forums.

Two confirmed dates and venues have been advised by the FEI, with the first forum being held during the European Championships in Luhmühlen in Germany, from August 25 to 28, and the second at the Pan American Games, held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 16 to 29.

The third venue is expected to be Adelaide, Australia, during the Australian International Three-Day-Event, from November 18 to 20.

A seminar for eventing officials in New Zealand, in Taupo in May 2012, is also planned.
