Its builder, Ofer Mor, took a year to build the horse, using two tonnes of wood, more than 20,000 screws and more than 300 litres of paint.

Mor says it is worth $US500,000.

It is understood the rocking horse will get Guinness world record recognition, eclipsing the previous biggest rocking horse, built in Japan in 2004.

Mor says his rocking horse is capable of carrying up to 50 children.
