Cost of 2010 World Equestrian Games put at nearly $80m

January 20, 2008

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2010 are likely to cost $US76.4 million to stage.

The World Games 2010 Foundation, who are the organisers, expect the event will run with only a modest surplus of just under $US1 million.

Revenues from the likes of corporate sponsorships and ticket sales are projected to be $77.2 million.

Current budgets are preliminary and further adjustment is likely.

About a third of the running costs have already been raised.
