Thoroughbred stallion Rainbow Quest has died at the age of 26. The son of Blushing Groom, who stood at Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket, was euthanised after suffering complications to emergency colic surgery. He was aged 26.

As a four-year-old Rainbow Quest, who was bred in Kentucky, was champion in England and France, capturing the Group 1 Coronation Cup and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

He sired 103 stakes winners and several Group 1 winners, including the filly Fiji, who won an Eclipse Award for best grass female during her career. Two of his grand-get, Kris Kin and North Light, won the Epsom Derby.
