Kaimanawa wild horses mustered tomorrow

May 29, 2007

The Kaimanawa Wild Horse Welfare Trust has stopped taking applications for horses rounded up from the Kaimanawa Ranges. The muster is to take place tomorrow and Thursday.

A total of 85 horses have been placed, as well as up to 20 foals and yearlings.

It's very encouraging for us to know that so many two to four-year-olds have been placed in well prepared homes as these horses so often miss out," a Kaimanawa Wild Horse Trust spokesman said.

Any late applications for horses will be processed after the muster and will be offered the opportunity to purchase the colts, foals and yearlings at a later date.
