Continuous heavy rain has caused the cancellation of classes at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Wednesday, and the evening’s Preview Performance of The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration was also cancelled.
The show’s cancellation was caused by flooding in the public car park and truck park, but Thursday’s events are planned to go ahead as usual.
The Preview Performance of the birthday show was to have been staged in front of a live audience during the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Organisers are unable to offer replacement tickets to anyone who was planning to attend, as all other performances are sold out.
Wednesday night’s cancellation will not have an impact on performances during the remainder of the week.
“Windsor Wednesday” is traditionally the day of free entry for the public to the show, and for the first time in history, tickets had all been allocated.
The day is particularly inviting for locals who want to get a first peek at the world-class competition and explore the private grounds of Windsor Castle, as this is the only time of the year the grounds are open to the public.
The show is also being live-streamed on Windsor TV.
