Speed-dating style equestrian careers advice is on offer at this year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The Careers with Horses session in the BHS marquee next to the Frogmore Arena, is aimed at helping school children, as well as BHS members, to find out more about the range of job opportunities available in the equestrian industry.

Spillers nutritionist Sarah Nelson is joining the advisory panel at the event, along with a member of the Mounted Police Force, a saddler, an equine dental technician and a BHS instructor to offer information and advice.

The sessions will be run in a ‘speed dating’ style, comprising five presenters and five tables of up to 10 interested candidates. The presenter will talk to each table for 15 minutes, about their career, how they came to have their current position and any qualifications required for their role. Individuals will also have the opportunity to ask the presenter questions in a relaxed setting. The presenter will then move on to the next table and the process will be repeated.

“This is such a good, informal opportunity for school leavers and those considering changing careers to find out more about working in the equestrian industry,” said Nelson, who has been an equine nutrition advisor at Spillers for the past six years.

“I am proud to have been invited by such a prestigious educational organisation as the BHS to participate and am very much hoping to meet plenty of aspiring equine nutritionists.”

The Royal WIndsor Horse Show runs from May 11 to 15.
