Actress Kaley Cuoco has been named 2015 Horsewoman of the Year by the Humane Society of the US.

The star of hit TV show Big Bang Theory was grateful for the award, saying: “I will continue to raise awareness and do all I can to prevent horse slaughter and abuse. Thank you so much!”

Last year Cuoco fronted a video on behalf of the HSUS opposing the horse-meat trade in American horses.

Cuoco owns five horses and is a keen showjumper, winning the Charity Pro-Am Style & Competition at the Longines Masters of Los Angeles last October. She often shares pictures of her horses on social media.

She said last year: “As a horse owner, I know firsthand the unique bond we share with horses, and I am passionate about protecting them from cruelty. To force any horse to endure the horror of slaughter is a betrayal of their trust and loyalty.”

Previous winners of the award include Madeleine Pickens and Priscilla Presley.

Kaley Cuoco is a vegan and vegans are against using animals for anything, so this is quite odd

You apparently don’t know any vegans.

Agreed, vegan does not mean against the use of animals… I have been vegan for 30+ years and my horse jumps too… 🙂

Can she help us in Oregon?
Mare Sterilization Research is going to be done on 225 wild, pregnant mares in the Hines holding facility. This is not necessary, not safe, and cannot be allowed. We need a celeb to stand with us!!
