Provisional affiliation has been granted to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) by the FEI Bureau, paving the way for the Southeastern Europe country to become a full member of the world governing body.
The provisional affiliation means that the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Federation has all the rights of an FEI member federation except the right to vote at the FEI General Assembly.
Full membership will be voted upon by the FEI General Assembly in November 2015.
FEI officials visited the country in March and were hosted by the Alliance of Equestrian Organisations BiH (SKOFBiH). They met with representatives of the Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH-sport sector and the Veterinary Office.
Located on the Balkan peninsula and bordered by Croatia to the north, west and south, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of 3.8 million people.
