Broadcaster Horse & Country TV is holding open auditions during the upcoming Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, with the chance to present on the channel.

Horse & Country’s stand at Badminton will be set up for budding presenters to come and film an audition, with the winning entrant getting the chance to interview a top rider for a future episode of hit show Rudall’s Round-Up.

The Horse & Country team will be on hand at stand number 262 on Beaufort Way, ready to film the audition tapes. Entrants will have one minute to talk direct to camera on any one of three topics:

  • Why I love Badminton
  • Why I love my horse
  • Why I love Horse & Country TV

Every day throughout Badminton H&C TV will be putting the best auditions up on their website and, from these, a panel of expert judges will chose one outright winner.

The winner, along with a friend, will get the chance to attend a future recording of Rudall’s Round-Up and interview a top rider, with Jenny on hand to provide guidance.

The interview will appear on Horse & Country TV. “With the latest figures showing that over a million people regularly tune into the channel, who knows what it could lead to,” the channel says.

There will be two filming sessions every day at Badminton. Those wanting to audition can head to the H&C stand between 11am and 1pm or 3pm and 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, or 11am to 1pm only on Sunday.

Entrants under the age of 18 will need written permission from a parent or guardian to take part.

At the UK’s Broadcast Digital Awards H&C won “Best Specialist Channel” in 2011. This year the Channel is shortlisted for both Best Specialist Channel and Best Factual Channel. Online, H&C publishes blogs and commentary provided by a range of experts and personalities, an extensive range of equestrian video, a calendar of events, as well as programme support material for all of the Channel’s featured shows.
