Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are visiting the US next week and among their official duties is a reception to officially launch international working equine charity Brooke USA.
The Duchess has been The Brooke’s president since 2006, and has visited the charity’s work in Pakistan, Jordan and Egypt.
The Brooke is an international animal welfare organisation dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world’s poorest communities. It provides treatment, training and programmes around animal health and wellbeing, operating across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The reception for Brooke USA patrons and supporters is at Churchill Downs racecourse in Louisville, Kentucky,
The couple’s four-day visit to the US, from March 17 to 20, takes in a broad range of engagements to promote Britain’s partnership with the United States in key areas such as sustainability and climate change, creating youth opportunities, encouraging corporate social responsibility and promoting historical and cultural links.
