The prestigious Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event has had a prize money boost of $50,000, bringing the total purse up to $300,000.

Taking place next year from April 23 to 26, the RK3DE Presented by Land Rover is one of only six Four Star Three-Day Events in the world and the only one in the Western Hemisphere. It is also part of the $350,000 Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing, which is awarded to any rider who wins the Kentucky, Badminton and Burghley horse trials in succession.

It is also an official selection trial for the US Eventing Team and will help determine which US riders will be chosen to compete at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, next July.

RK3DE is produced by Equestrian Events, Inc., and executive director Lee Carter said it was thanks to support from Rolex Watch USA and Land Rover North America that the prize money increase for all of the top 20 finishers was possible.
