The Meydan Group has joined the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 as an official sponsor, continuing a relationship established with the 2006 Games in Aachen.
As part of its sponsorship agreement, Meydan will be associated with all eight official disciplines, with the 2014 World Endurance Championship named “Meydan Endurance at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014”. This competition will be held on August 28, with the course taking in the bay of the iconic Mont Saint-Michel near Sartilly.
Vice-Chairman Malih Lahej Al Basti said Meydan was committed to aiding the development of the equine industry at a global level.
“We are pleased to demonstrate this passion through our role as an Official Sponsor of the Games. This is a prestigious competition that is truly international in its reach. The event provides Meydan with an excellent means to communicate our role in equine sports and highlights our exciting commercial ventures here in Dubai,” he said.
Meydan City is the concept of UAE Vice President and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. As well as a venue for horse racing, it is also an integrated city that is sustainable and environmentally responsible. The Meydan Group portfolio also includes the Emirates Equestrian Centre and Dubai Equestrian Club with endurance, dressage and show jumping championships.
