A new iPhone app has been launched by the FEI offering video-on-demand, news, competition reports and more, to mark St Nicholas Day.
The free app – named FEI TV on the Go – features video competition highlights, rider interviews and equestrian lifestyle features, as well as the latest FEI news, including event previews, competition reports and rider rankings.
The tradition of Saint Nicholas’ Day, on 6 December, is a festival for children in many countries in Europe related to surviving legends of Saint Nicholas, and particularly his reputation as a bringer of gifts. The American Santa Claus, as well as the British Father Christmas, derive from these legends. “Santa Claus” is itself derived in part from the Dutch Sinterklaas.
FEI TV on the Go is available for download here. It comes equipped with the option of adding favourite live-streamed FEI events to the iPhone calendar and engaging with the FEI and international equestrian community on Facebook and twitter.
Subscribers to FEI TV, the FEI’s official video service, can also watch premium content and live-streamed coverage of the world’s most prestigious equestrian competitions, events and Championships.
FEI TV on the Go for iPhone, which follows last year’s highly successful launch of the application for iPad and iPad mini devices, is iOS 7-ready, making it compatible for all iPhones.
