The man who died in a trailer-hauling accident in Kentucky on Sunday morning was a well-known Tennessee walking horse trainer.
He was Jeffrey Givens, 51, of Murfreesboro, in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
Three horses also died as a result of the accident in the southbound lane on Interstate 71 in Gallatin County.
Authorities say the truck Givens was driving ran off the left side of the road around 8.30am.
The horse trailer he was towing jack-knifed and then hit a guard rail.
The truck landed on its roof.
Given was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, 53-year-old Tim Taylor, of La Vergne, was taken to hospital with shoulder and rib injuries.
Three horses were euthanized at the scene, while two survived the impact. One is reported to have required stitches.
It is understood the men were returning home from a horse show in Ohio.
Weather conditions were poor at the time of the accident.
