Parody of “The Matrix” shows world ruled by horses

South Koreans have parodied The Matrix movie franchise, producing a high quality video portraying a world ruled by horses.

The video, entitled The Matrix 4 – Equus, purports to be from the Korea Racing Authority and ends on the impressive Seoul Racecourse.

The story has more than a few elements from The Planet of the Apes, with horse rulers taking no nonsense from their human underlings.

Viewers are treated to humans sprinting from the racetrack starting gates to the cheers of a grandstand packed with betting horses.

As the humans fight back, horses are shown retreating from a human performing pop star Psy’s Gangnam Style horse dance – described as the forbidden dance – and being shot up with carrots.

The horses are armed, too, but it seems they are no match for the leaders of the human resistance.

It begins with the words, “In the near future, the human race was ruled by an intellectually superior species. The species was … the horses.”

In the end, the Neo character faces a choice between a carrot and a piece of broccoli to decide his future. The rest, as they say, is history.

The end hints that more is yet to come, with evidence suggesting the next parody will be taking on James Cameron’s 2009 movie, Avatar.
