A horse found trapped after a muddy bank gave way has been rescued by crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue in England.
Crews were called out shortly after 5am on Thursday to Madgeon Lane, Bishopswood, Chard, in Somerset.
The horse, named Harvey, was 2 metres down in a mud-filled ditch, with his legs completely trapped immersed in the quagmire.
Crews set up lifting gear and got strops around Harvey to remove him from the ditch.
The rescue took about two and a half hours.
A vet was in attendance to assist.
Owner Pheobe Garlick, 24, was alerted to Harvey’s plight when she went to investigate after hearing her horses neighing in the field.
