The current British Eventing Long Pin for frangible and deformable cross country fences has been approved by the FEI for traditional front fitting and reverse fitting using the BE reverse pinning wires.

The BE Short Pin passed FEI inspection following testing on February 28, 2013; however the Long Pin underwent further testing to demonstrate to the FEI inspector that it behaves in the same way as the short pin.

The pendulum and test rig used for the FEI testing of the BE pins for frangible and deformable fences will be on display throughout the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, from May 2 to 6.

On Friday May 3, both the public and members of the press attending Badminton are invited to view a live test demonstration of the pendulum in action testing the pins on a cross country fence.

The live displays will take place in the morning, lunch and afternoon dressage breaks at Stand number 97. Each session will also include a live Q&A session with Martin Herbert from ADHQ, BE’s official testing engineers with BE’s National Safety Officer Jonathan Clissold also in attendance.
