Horses rescued from burning Pennsylvania barn

little-britainAll horses were successfully evacuated from a Pennsylvania barn which caught alight on Wednesday evening.

Heavy smoke was billowing from the barn in Little Britain Township when firefighters arrived shortly after 9pm.

Lancaster Online reports that the owner of the property had been releasing animals from the stalls as the fire took hold.

During the rescue, one knocked down an ambulance officer, who was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The fire in the two-storey wooden building started near where a skid loader was parked.
