A horror crash in England involving six horses and four vehicles has left one man dead. Three of the horses, one of which was a foal, died in the Christmas Eve accident.
The Suffolk Constabulary named the victim as Thomas Allen, 23, of Soham, Cambridgeshire.
The accident happened on the A14 road at Sproughton shortly after 10pm. A section of the road between Copdock and Sproughton was closed for several hours while the vehicles and horses were cleared from the road.
Allen was taken to Ipswich Hospital but died from his injuries on Christmas Day.
A woman passenger, 20, was also injured in the pile-up, but her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The drivers of the three other vehicles are understood to have escaped injury.
A 26-year-old Ipswich man arrested on suspicion of causing a danger to road users. He was granted bail pending further inquiries and will return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on February 28.
Witnesses to the incident are asked to call PC Ali Cotton at the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
