Online study provider Equine Guelph has developed an interactive learning tool to teach people about horse joints.
Equine Guelph, part of the University of Guelph, in Ontario, Canada, says the interactive learning tool will teach people what is normal and what is not when it comes to a horse’s joint.
The tool enables users to understand what is happening below the surface and how to manage joint inflammation.
It is designed to take horse people on an interactive journey from a healthy joint to an inflamed, arthritic joint.
Sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, “Journey through the Joints” offers user-friendly activities on the anatomy of a joint. including a 360-degree tour of an actual horses’ joint.
“We think it’s really important to teach horse people about the basics on joints,” says Dr Cathy Rae, manager of equine technical services for Pfizer Animal Health.
“It is critical to have a basic knowledge of joints to better understand the causes and care of lameness.”
