A mounted deputy in Ohio is recovering from multiple injuries after being unseated while policing a rodeo where fireworks were discharged.
The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office told media it expected to file felony charges against the operator of the Friday night rodeo at the Trumbull County Fair as it alleged the fireworks show was unlicensed.
Allen Smith, 76, of Orangeville, broken two ribs and suffered a punctured lung and broken shoulder in the fall.
Smith was admitted to the St Joseph Health Center in Warren.
Deputy Rick Tackett said charges related to the unlicensed discharge of the fireworks were likely. His office would be consulting with prosecutors first, he said.
