Authorities are holding a man wanted for questioning over the high-profile theft of five horses from the Mulerider Stables at Southern Arkansas University last November.
William Webster “Billy” Hamilton, 38, was arrested in Florida, investigators say.
Five horses belonging to the university’s top-performing rodeo team were stolen overnight on November 2.
Four were later recovered across the state border in Oklahoma but the fifth, named Credit Card, was found dead.
Investigators allege Credit Card was killed and dismembered.
Tack and a horse trailer were also stolen from the university stables in the raid.
A rodeo team member, Jaci Rae Jackson, of McCurtain County, Oklahoma, has been charged in connection with the horse theft.
She faces felony counts in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
In January, authorities named Hamilton as a person wanted for questioning in the case.
He was picked up by local deputies on Monday in Sebring, following a tipoff that he was at a local residence.
