British feed manufacturer Spillers has appointed Sarah Elphick as its new competition nutritionist for the south of England.
She joins the company’s competition nutrition team, which is in demand around the country providing free, expert nutrition consultations and support to competition yards.
As a successful competition rider herself Elphick has an excellent understanding of the market, as well as a thorough knowledge of horse nutrition.
Based in Gloucestershire, Elphick is responsible for the whole of the south of England and Wales, from Peterborough across to Pembrokeshire and below. She holds an equine studies degree from Warwickshire College and has previously worked with Genus Equine, managed a show jumping yard and been travelling groom for the show jumper Guy Goosen.
Elphick still has an active interest in show jumping but also enjoys producing young horses and re-schooling retired race orses. She currently has a five-year-old ex-racer, Bethlehem, with whom she hopes to compete in show jumping this year.
She said: “I am really excited to work for such a well-respected brand and can’t wait to utilise my equestrian knowledge and passion within my new role.”
