He has been hugely successful, winning and placing in many major classes up to Grand Prix level. Senator VDL's family are deeply entrenched with superb jumping genes and is a guarantee for producing jump horses. His sire Corland, has had an outstanding career as an international showjumper and jumped many international Grand Prix, also representing Holland many times in Nations Cup events. Corland has produced approved sons with the KWPN, and a son of Corland won the five-year-old title at the World Young Horse Championships at Lanken. Senator VDL's dam Falonie is by the famous Voltaire, from a Nimmerdor mare. She has had a full brother who is jumping internationally with Michael Whittaker. She has two offspring jumping in the USA and an approved son Placido, with the KWPN in the Netherlands. Senator VDL's progeny not only have his wonderful temperament, but he is producing foals with correct conformation, lovely heads and a strong topline and hindquarters. They have lovely elevated movement and are also showing a great technique with loads of scope when free jumping.
