South Island Show Report

Supreme Led Warmblood and NZWHA Premier Mare or Filly Rosari Ghiotto.
This year's South-Island Warmblood Championship Show was held on the 8th November, 2009 at the National Equestrian Centre on Mc Leans Island, Christchurch. With 46 entries, we are still continuing to grow each year.

Our judge this year for the In hand and Ridden Section was Kay Harding, a breeder and rider of Warmblood Horses from Australia. For our Ridden Performance Class, we had a Bereiter from Germany who is on holiday in NZ at the moment. This class proved very popular this year with 18 entries, and each horse was ridden by the judge for about 5 min.

Champion Junior Male: Stanhopes Magician, by Stanhopes Diddicoy/Cyprus, bred by Emma Steel, owned by Michelle Zielazo

Champion Junior Female: Go Lightly, by Kinnordy Gym Bello/Cindy, bred and owned by Holly Merritt

Ridden Performance Showcase: Flowervale Freelady, by Freestyle/French Gift, owned by Maree Milliken

Reserve: Playgirl, by Paradiesvogel/Aisa, owned by Kirsty Schist

Champion Novice Ridden: Gammon KS, by Gymnastik Star/Fast Khan, owned by Joy White

Champion Open Ridden: Astek Cajoule, by Immenhof Castello/Rosiex, owned by Karen Withell

Supreme Ridden: Astek Cajoule

Showjumping Section:

65cm: Flowervale Freelady

75 cm: Kinnordy Galandria

85 cm: Dinky Di Doff, by Davidoff/Eagles Rosebud, bred by Lorraine Stewart

Winner of the Stewart Trophy for most versatile Warmblood across all sections: Kinnordy Galandria, by Gymnastik Star/Wulle Bulle, owned by Karolyn Norton.
