Dressage at the Horse of the Year Show

The standard was exceptionally high in all grades. Some of our members
performed with great distinction and some of our breeders – both past and present
– deserve to be very proud of their achievements.
I must single out Andrea Bank for her amazing display on three horses in different
grades and in the Performance Horse classes on the Thursday. She gained Champion Performance Horse with Ad Astra's stallion Limonit and was runner up on her stallion Doringcourt in the qualifying class. In dressage she gained 2 reserve champions – Limonit and Northern Fortuous and a fourth place with Doringcourt. Quite outstanding!
Kallista Field was successful with her Weltmeyer mare Wakiwi at level 6/7 and followed fairly close behind with her stallion Salutation as well.
Jody Hartstone continues to show her stallions Landioso (pictured right) and Donnerwind, off with great gusto and with good choice of music for the Kur
for both. She finished first and third on her boys in the overall title race.
The breeders of the Derby horses need to feel proud also – the horses looked fantastic under their NEW riders – and special mention has to go to Julia Fraser for the performance of Leo Dreams of Gold with the German girl, Andrea Timpe. It was a forward and exciting display of what this horse is capable of.
Whilst there is a significant number of imported horses in the placings, locally bred
ones feature well. Matthews Hanoverians, Astek Stud, Bilbar Lodge, the original JK
Holsteiner stud have produced regular winners all season and feature here again.
