Back to News Lilly Vuitton July 13, 2009 by Sandra Stanford Lilly Vuitton (pictured at left) is by Voltaire II out of a Kingsway Diamond/TB mare, bred by Mandy O'Donohue. She is branded Warmblood and Irish Draught. Sandra purchased her as a 2 ½ yr old and was the only rider she'd had until just recently. John Cottle has bought in on a half share and a 4 year partnership agreement late last year. John now has the ride of Lily Vuitton, until such time as he chooses not to. Sandra reports though that she has a recipient mare at home carrying a Limonit/Lilly Vuitton foal. We are all looking forward for that foal to arrive in late September! Lilly Vuitton changed over to John in October 2008, so Sandra only got to do one ESNZ show on her at Woodhill where she won both classes, including the 6yr old. She also one the Irish Draught Society's Performance Horse Award. Last season she was in the line up in 95% of the 5yr old classes she entered and won a number of other placings to 1.25m. Meanwhile an update on Aero (pictured at right) – he has stepped up to Grand Prix this season after a fabulous return from a broken hind leg. He had a super show at Auckland end of last year where he won the 1.35 speed title and the Grand Prix and also had a few other minor placings in classes up to 1.45. Aero is by Dynamit out of Norfolk Isle (TB) and is branded NZ Hanoverian and registered Warmblood also. He was bred by Lyn Primrose.
