Mare Studbook Classification Applications

July 14, 2009

Mare inspections will take place in strategic locations other than at the AGM Colt and Mare Day in Matamata - so please send your expressions of interest so that these days can be set in place.

To apply to have your mare classified for the Warmblood Mare Studbook please send the details to:- Wendy Beaven, 495 Finlays Rd R D 5 Christchurch, 7675

State mare's name, age, colour, brands, markings, breeding, owner and breeder
State your name, address, phone number and email address

Enclose fee of $35 per mare.

Mares to qualify are as follows -
Registered and branded Warmblood mares by licensed Warmblood stallions of Hanoverian, Trakehner,Oldenburg, Westfalian, Holstein, KWPN, Swedish Rhineland origin (imported ones also qualify)
Thoroughbred
Anglo Arabian
Arabian
They must be 3 years old or over

The Studbook inspection is a very important part of the breeding process - by helping to choose top quality mares it thus improves the quality standards in your breeding proramme. It is also very useful to be able to identify any weaknesses In the mare. The choice of a stallion can be made easier -by choosing one that has strong points where the mare has weaker ones.
