November 2002
Profile - Lynley Bolt

I was given my first horse when I was three years old, by a character of a man who led his horse around the district from his car to different jobs, also to town.

Over the next 12 or so years I spent every day, all day (when I wasn’t in school or having to do parent-organised things) on my horse, often doing crazy things at the back of the farm or in the bush away from the restricting eyes of parents. (Things that I won’t tell my 2 children, as I’m sure they don’t need any of my help getting into mischief).

My horse was very fit though. The first Warmblood I bred was a colt High Hopes by Polarschnee out of a TB/station bred mare. He is a very nice horse who was kept entire and put over a couple of my mares for a few years.

Then I bred Laurrel by JK Lucas out of a Cry Baby mare. Laurrel is an awesome horse, a fantastic ride and mate/partner. This year I am planning to breed with her, not sure who to as yet. I have been looking for her Mr Right over the last couple of seasons.

In 2001 I brought a Witzbold x Gay Princess mare with an Anamour filly at foot and a Graf Landau mare in foal to Anamour. She had a beautiful filly, ‘Aqua’ - I have her marked as MY riding horse.

Recently I have started my Pinto colt under saddle; he is by High Hopes (so ¼ Warmblood). The plan at the moment is to start competing him next winter.
