| "Aspen Hills has been impressed with the professional, timely and efficient service we have received from Horsetalk. The words we always wanted to say but couldnt find, seem to emerge from the consultation process."
The Deuss Family, Aspen Hills Arabians

The relaunched Caithness Stud site has had a complete facelift. Much of the copy on the site was rewritten, and the pictures were enhanced and compressed. Horsetalk took over the site in April 2002, and it is one of our largest, with more than 60 pages. It is an excellent example of a stud showcasing its stallions, mares, and progeny.

This is a stylish site with classic colours and framed photographs. The font and colours were already established by the stud, and we enhanced the banner and added a clear-cut image of the stallion.
| "This is the second site we have had designed by Marshall Web Design, the first being a business site. We have found Robin has provided us with first-class service for the creation, updating and hosting of both our websites. The service has not only been incredibly prompt but super helpful. We know our website is working as we are selling horses directly from it. We have so many people tell us they check it all the time. Only the other night we had a call from a buyer in the United Arab Emirates wanting to purchase one of our horses! No other advertising or marketing would or could be that successful without significant amounts of money. We consider our website to be excellent value for money."
Sandy Wolfe, Classic Arabians
This is a nice site which shows the power of good photographs to sell horses and services.

Holly Farm was the first site to go online with Horsetalk, back in 1997, and it was also the first arabian stud online in New Zealand. Holly Farm has an extensive news and feature article archive, and is a good example of a stud keeping visitors informed about its activities.
Stoneylea is the first hanoverian stud to be hosted by the New Zealand Hanoverian Society's website, which is in turn hosted by Horsetalk. The site design is from the stud owner's original drafts, which we transferred to the web. It's an excellent example of a brochure site with information about the stud's breeding programme, mares, and horses for sale.

A regular feature of the Supreme Arabians site is a competition to win a service to one of the stud's two stallions. In the two years the competition has been run, it has proven extremely popular and has boosted visitor numbers.
| "Horsetalk provides a great chance to advertise and promote my stud at an international level for a very competitive price. They offer a very prompt and professional service that has enabled me to promote and sell my horses worldwide."
Sean Trafford, Supreme Arabians

Vollrath Hanoverians has been established on the web for several years, and we started looking after the site in 1998. The site is hosted independently, but its exposure on Horsetalk has led to greater visitor numbers. We were also able to offer a more competitive price for site updates. This is a excellent example of a site which is kept up to date with news from the stud and horses for sale.
| "We started in this game with a "rip-off artist" in 1997. Vollrath's website has been under the professional management of Robin Marshall - Horsetalk - since 1998. After this move into Robin's care we have received fantastic support. On request changes/upgrades are virtually made on the spot which of course enhances the quality and actuality of Vollrath's advertisement = our website. Look at our guestbook and you will read how my visitors qualify Robin's work and it goes without saying we supply the photos and a prompt payment for terrific work done.
"Thank you Robin, very much."
Berny Maubach and Jutta Rosenblatt, Vollrath Hanoverians

This is one of our favourite sites -- it is bold and clean and very functional. One of its main objectives is to become a hub for Society members and breeders, and it allows studs to host under its umbrella.

The ILPH is our favourite charity and this site has everything you need to know about the organisation. News is updated regularly, and supporters can join the cause and donate funds through the site.
| "Robin Marshall has designed and hosted the Website of the International League for the Protection of Horses (New Zealand) for the past five years, starting from scratch. We have been thrilled and delighted with the quality of the Horsetalk Website, and the speed and efficiency with which Robin has accommodated our requests for updates and changes. Robin's flair for imaginative design has surpassed our hopes, and the layout and content of our site has been the envy of many bigger organisations. We collect visitors from all over the world, some of whom are looking for the main ILPH European Website, but find the New Zealand one first, due to Robin's good planning. We cannot praise Horsetalk highly enough, and we always recommend Robin to friends and colleagues if the opportunity arises."
Marilyn Bright, Administrator
International League for the Protection of Horses (New Zealand) Inc.

Going on visitor numbers, this is one of our most popular association websites. It also proves that it does not matter where a club is based, a website can be created for it by Horsetalk!
| "Our Association, though based in Australia, has found that Horsetalk was able to set up a good quality, reasonably priced site for us. Robin is
extremely helpful and is only too happy to offer any assistance, to alter the site or upgrade it whenever we want. Our Association and its members are very pleased with our professional website, and the high number of visitors prove that it is a successful and easily accessed site. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Robin to anyone looking for a quality reliable web design service."
Carina Jefferson
Australian Friesian Horse Assn
This site provides news and information to members and has an area where forms can be downloaded, as do most Horsetalk sites. It's kept nicely up to date.

If you want to find out about the Kaimanawa Horse in New Zealand, this is the site to go to. It features a Kaimanawas-only classifieds section.
| "Deciding to have a site on Horsetalk was one of the best moves our Society could have made. The horses were in desperate need of good exposure and Robin and her team have been able to provide this. Also being able to have a classifieds section has been a blessing. We would like to applaud Robin and the team for being innovative and making Horsetalk interesting. Thanks so much Robin, Horsetalk is one of the best (and uncomplicated) sites around."
Isabel Park
Kaimanawa Horse Breed Society
The NZABS has been online with Horsetalk since 1997. A feature of the site is the publishing of some articles and colour advertisements from the society's publication, Expression. There are also listings of regional clubs and stallions at stud.

This site came to Horsetalk in 2000 in need of updating and upgrading. We have since added a classifieds area. All the photographs in the site were taken by Horsetalk, and the navigation is a nice mouseover with silhouette polo images.

| "Horsetalk took over the polo website, redesigned it, and they have provided instant service ever since. Could not have asked for more. Thank you."
Dione Jones, NZPA

Hurunui Horse Treks was one of the first equine operations to go online in New Zealand, and the site came to us in 2000 needing reorganisation and refocusing. As well as promoting their business on the web, the site owners also pay attention to traditional marketing methods, which has paid off.
| "We have been working with Horsetalk for 3 years and have enjoyed the prompt, creative and practical approach to meeting our needs. Both of our sites, www.hurunui.co.nz and www.ridenz.com, are kept fresh, functional and informative."
Rob Stanley, Hurunui Horse Treks / Ridenz.com
There are benefits to be had in consolidation, as this group of horse trekking establishments has found. The Ridenz.com site has been enjoying growing visitor numbers since it went online earlier this year (2002). The site sells New Zealand as a clean, green destination for trekking enthusiasts -- or those wanting to take a side trip during a New Zealand holiday.

Naturally Equine is often complimented on this site -- it's clean and easy to navigate through. It is a huge site, with nearly all of the company's offerings online -- and new items are added regularly. Extended information and articles are also available. Customers can order by 0800 number or through and order form on-site.
| "We are delighted with our choice. As well as designing a website we were very happy with, Robin has always been super accessible and helpful to us. The service we have received has been prompt, professional and friendly. We consider our site to have been excellent value for money and it is the most significant marketing tool of our business. Thank you, Robin, for your ongoing support and we look forward to our continuing involvement with Marshall Web Design."
Michelle B, Naturally Equine

This site is unique in New Zealand in that it features a site owner-maintained area where the stable's owners can log in and check on their horse's progress. It has proved very popular with owners, and has contributed to the many new owners from overseas and out of Canterbury sending horses to the stables for training. Stable news is also updated regularly.
This site features a Flash opening sequence. It delivers information about the company's all-natural equine products, provides a contact point for prospective distributors, and has online ordering.

Pearson's
Pearson's are vintage and veteran car and parts specialists, with a focus on Model *A* Fords. This is a large site, and people with cars to sell can list for free. There is also an extensive parts catalogue. Pearson's is a good example of a bricks-and-mortar business making the transition to the web.

Intranet for The Press
The Press newspaper is the largest metropolitan newspaper in the South Island, and the biggest daily owned by Independent Newspapers Limited (INL). This site is an Intranet (internal Internet) for Press staff only, and delivers news and information from each department and from management. News and information from the wider industry is also included, and there is also a weekly poll -- sometimes serious and sometimes light.
Mirage Paving's site features a Flash opening sequence, which leads to a huge projects portfolio. The portfolio features pictures and information from the company, which specialises in mechanical paving. It is a large site.
Arbi is the largest monogramming company in the South Island, and is also a supplier of bulk promotional clothing products. The cost of buying catalogues of the available products was becoming prohibitive, so the company decided to put its main range and services online.

Updates and Maintenance only

Westfalia's site is another excellent example of a site which is replacing the need for expensive, glossy brochures. The site was create independently and handed to Horsetalk for hosting and updates. The owners are enjoying the extra exposure being on Horsetalk has given them and say the site has already saved them a lot of money. The site showcases the stud's stallion and young stock for sale.
This is a huge site with a nearly complete catalogue of New Zealand stamps for sale. It is unusual in that pictures of the stamps for sale are also featured. The onsite shopping program was upgraded in 2000 after the site's previous designers vanished and the site's host also had problems.
