Zelina is a grey purebred mare standing 14.1hh -14.2hh. Bred by Sharon Mason, she is by the Polish imported stallion Cyrasa, from Sharon's very well known show mare Kyrenia.
I first saw Zelina as a three-year-old mare at Sharon's farm and she was instantly added to my "Mares I Would Most Like To Own And Would Be Prepared To Kill For If Necessary" list. Zelina is the embodiment of grace and elegance, with beautiful big eyes; the longest, finest neck; a lovely carriage and excellent movement.
Unfortunately when Sharon came to sell her, quite a few years later, I was too late to purchase her.
So I was delighted to receive a call from David Marshall, in 2006, offering me this beautiful mare. Zelina was not a spring chicken at this point, but I felt it would be worth at least trying to breed from her as she was in foal at the time, and could be served on her foaling heat.
So she has been bred to Redwood Lodge Calais - everything crossed for a filly. In the meantime I just enjoy seeing at this beautiful mare in my paddock.
