Rosewood Premonition

When Sonnett was sold she was in foal to Tycoon for her first baby at the time, and her new owner, Jackie Elliot was very pleased with the resulting colt foal. Jackie showed the foal, named Premonition, as a baby; and he went South Island Reserve Champion Partbred/Anglo Youngstock. He grew into a lovely tall gelding, with a very free elevated movement. At the age of three, Premonition was sold to Jim Cooper as a future endurance horse, and Jim liked him so much that he went back to Jackie and bought Sonnett. He bred Sonnett back to Tycoon for another colt, Nebula, who is very similar to his brother and although unshown a lovely horse. Sonnett was again bred to Tycoon, then Jim decided to move back to Australia. He very kindly gifted Sonnett back to me in return for more of the wonderful Tycoon babies from her.
In 2001 Sonnett foaled a filly; very similar to her brothers, Sonata is a beautiful elegant filly with the same easy extended movement. I showed both Sonnett and Sonata at the 2002 Nationals and was very pleased for Sonnett to qualify for the Top five in her class (pot tummy from foaling and all) and was thrilled when Sonata went not only Top Five but also National Reserve Champion Partbred/Anglo Youngstock. At the next National Show in Christchurch in 2004, Sonata repeated this success by gaining National Reserve Champion Anglo/Partbred Filly.
