The ride-off between Western Riding World Youth Games Silver Medalist Josh Robins and Olympic Team Dressage Qualifier Shiwon Green will be accompanied by improvised music from the popular group Hot Club Sandwich. The band's style owes its origins to the 1930s Hot Club swing music of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli - doused with a heavy smattering of Jazz and Blues.
Held on the night of Saturday, March 3 at Manfeild Park's purpose built indoor stadium, the TSB Bank Dressage Musical Extravaganza is an evening competition including a Grand Prix Musical Freestyle, equestrian entertainment and live music.
USA youth Equestrian Coach Jeremy Steinberg will also perform an improvised dressage to music display and local equestrians will show off their singing talent as part of the evening's package.
TSB Bank is the naming rights sponsor of the 2012 Dressage Musical Extravaganza, and the bank is offering a prize draw in celebration of the event next month. Any Dressage NZ rider, supporter, sponsor, volunteer or official who opens a Premier Cheque or Term Investment account before February 22 will go into the draw to win two free corporate table tickets at the Extravaganza, and a free night's accommodation for two on March 3 at South Street West Motel, Feilding.
TSB Bank managing director/CEO Kevin Murphy said the bank was delighted to be associated with such a prestigious event. "We're proud to be supporting Dressage New Zealand's Musical Extravaganza - an event which will be both challenging for riders and an enthralling evening's entertainment for spectators".
