The National Equestrian Centre at McLean's Island sustained only minor damage as a result of the massive earthquake early on Saturday, Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) confirms.
ESNZ said the centre's caretaker, Stan Brown, and his wife, Lorna, were both well.
The centre is little more than 20 kilometres from the epicentre of the quake, which measured 7.1 on the Richter scale.
The region has continued to be rocked by a series of aftershocks, which have so far totalled more than 100.
ESNZ said it wanted to offer its support to all members in Canterbury affected by the quake.
It said the National Equestrian Centre will be made available to any member who, through damage to property, requires horse accommodation and/or camping for themselves and their immediate family.
There will be no fees for this service in the short term.
