Ireland names World Equestrian Games combinations

Team Ireland Equestrian's Show Jumping Manager Robert Splaine has named three of the five riders who will represent the country at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA, from September 26 to October 10.


The combinations selected so far are: Denis Lynch (Lantinus or Nabab's Son), Cian O'Connor (K Club Lady), and Billy Twomey (Tinka's Serenade or Je T'aime Flamenco).

Two more combinations from riders who have already been named on superleague squads during 2010 will be announced at a later date.

In eventing, Team Ireland Equestrian High Performance Manager Ginny Elliott named a squad of six combinations in June from which five riders will travel to the games. They are: Mark Kyle (Step in Time), Elizabeth Power (Kilpatrick River), Michael Ryan (Ballylynch Adventure), Patricia Ryan (Fernhill Clover Mist), Camilla Spiers (Portersize Just a Jiff) and Sam Watson (Horseware Bushman).

Judy Reynolds and Remember are the sole dressage combination, while Ollie Galligan and Whizardre N Starlite will represnt the country in reining. James O'Dwyer (Orlando) and Eilish Byrne (Youri) are Ireland's para equestrian representatives.
