Endurance New Zealand has reported the passing of long-time competitor and arabian horse breeder Sandy Duncan.
Duncan died on March 7, and his funeral was in Taumarunui last Thursday.
"Although unable to compete for some years now, many members will have fond memories of Sandy in his competitive years," Endurance NZ said.
The Duncan family's Makahiwi Stud has bred arabian horses in Taumarunui in the Central North Island for many years, with lines descending from foundation stallions Waimeha Nomad (Sheeref x Gypsy Maid) and Arabian Park Bay Band.
