A Shetland pony named Nutmeg had a lucky escape from floodwaters in New South Wales on Sunday.
The pony found itself up to its neck and caught in debris in a creek swollen by a flash flood.
State Emergency Service volunteers helped New South Wales firefighters to get a rope around Nutmeg's neck and coax her to the banks of the creek.
Staff were also kept busy rescuing three occupants whose two cars were caught in flooding at Annangrove.
The flash flooding resulted from heavy rain during a 24-hour period in nearby hills.
The State Emergency Service received more than 100 calls for assistance across the wider area, mostly in the Castle Hill and West Pennant Hills areas.
