Sleeping Amish buggy driver arrested for drunken driving

December 9, 2009

A young Amish man has been found drunk - and asleep at the reins - in Pennsylvania.

The man, 22, from Paradise, reportedly blew twice the legal alcohol limit.

An off-duty police officer drove up behind the slow-moving buggy, which was being pulled at walking speed along the centre line of North Ronks Road.

The officer's passenger was able to walk alongside the buggy and found the young man asleep at the reins.

He has been charged with driving while affected by alcohol.
