Scholarship set up to honour Patrick Swayze

November 28, 2009

Patrick Swayze and Tammen.

A scholarship has been set up by the Arabian Horse Foundation in honour of the late actor Patrick Swayze.

The scholarship is to be awarded each northern spring to a young person involved with Arabian horses who aspires to a career in the performing arts.

It was launched with a pledge from Iron Horse Farms in Canton, Georgia.

Swayze, who died at 57 from pancreatic cancer in September, was a fan of Arabians, and bred and showed them himself.

The Arabian Horse Foundation is the charitable arm of the Arabian Horse Association.
