October 27, 2009

A horse suffered two broken legs in Oregon after the collapse of a hay loft estimated to be carrying 30 tonnes of feed.

Another horse survived the collapse but the 21-year-old appaloosa with serious leg injuries was euthanized.

Firefighters from Clackamas Fire District 1 were called to the property near Beavercreek to remove the the hay and broken beams from the horses.

The two horses were occupying stables below the loft at the time of the collapse.
