Police join search for missing horse

October 24, 2009

Police in Maryland have pitched in to help in the hunt for a missing 27-year-old quarter horse named Trooper Jess.

Trooper Jess escaped her paddock in Poolesville, Maryland, on Tuesday.

Search teams have been scouring the hill country of Montgomery County for Trooper Jess, including eight officers with the Maryland National Capital Park Police.

News Channel 8 reports that the 16-hand horse has made her escape several times in the last three years, mostly when a fox hunt passed by.
