Toddler dies when stepped on by horse

A nine-month-old boy has died in Minnesota after being stepped on by a horse.

The victim was named as Chrissie Miller.

The acccident happened on a farm near Eagle Bend in Todd County.

The toddler was in a car seat placed in a garden cart near the stable entrance while his parents undertook chores.

A horse was tethered nearby, but the rope was of sufficient length that the horse's back legs could step on the boy.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
