This year's International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, which features an arabian horse sale, is increasing the number of competitions and events on offer.
This year's exhibition - known as ADIHEX - runs from September 30 to October 3.
The exhibition is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Emirates Falconers' Club (EFC), and organised by the EFC in cooperation with Turret Middle East with support from the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
"After the great international success of former competitions of the event, the next session of the exhibition will bring many various contests," said Abdullah Al-Qubaisi, Director of ADIHEX.
The contests include the art of making Arabic coffee; Nabati poems describing falcons and hunters; research on Arab hunting and equestrian; paintings of hunting, equestrian, and heritage; photographs of equestrian and heritage, and a Saluki dog show (of Rish and Hos categories).
Qubaisi said the event will also include an accompanying programme of diverse cultural and heritage activities, which is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors and advocates of traditional sports.
Most popular of those programmes are the falcon, horse and camel auctions, in addition to traditional events for children and youth, organized by ADACH annually and aimed to preserving the cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi for future generations.
