Eddie Macken in doping investigation

Ireland's Independent newspaper has reported that international showjumper Eddie Macken is involved in an investigation into a doping and medication issue relating to the Dublin Horse Show last year.
Only last year Macken, 59, returned to ride for Ireland from North America after a 10-year absence.
The Independent reported that the FEI said it was pursuing an offence relating to an alleged refusal to submit a sample for Tedechine Sept. Macken rode the horse for the Irish team which placed second in the Aga Khan Nations Cup.
Seized carriage horses up for adoption

Six horses uplifted in February from a carriage horse company in Chicago have been reportedly sent to a rescue facility in Illinois and are up for adoption.
The horses at the operation of JC Cutters Ltd were uplifted in early February, with the Chicago Tribune reporting at the time that the company had been denied a license to operate in 2009.
The horses arrived at the Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS) in Woodstock, Illinois last week. One horse has been adopted out so far.
JC Cutters Ltd is to appear in court on April 24, The Horse magazine reported.
