Video contest on horse slaughter issue

February 11, 2009

A US horse racing website is sponsoring a YouTube video contest with a $1000 prize to benefit a horse rescue organisation.

The contest, run by Alex Brown Racing, closes on Friday April 10, is to support the efforts to stop horse slaughter in the US.

Entered videos should discuss aspects of horse slaughter, as noted in the essay "Chapter horse slaughter". Entries should discuss specific aspects of the horse slaughter issue as noted in the above document, whether it is to agree, reinforce or disagree with the issues noted.

The contest is open to all, regardless of age and country of origin. Each video is to be one to four minutes in length.

The winner will be determined by multiplying the number of comments the video received, by the rating of the video, and then adding the number of views of the video.
