Yemen joins World Arabian Horse Organisation

February 3, 2009

Delegates at this week's World Arabian Horse Organization conference have voted to accept Yemen as a member of WAHO.

The WAHO General Assembly in Oman ends on Friday and is hosting 400 members from 50 countries.

The approval of Yemen stemmed from a request by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hashid al-Hmar to the executive committee of WAHO, to register arabian horses bred in Yemen.

WAHO recommended Yemen's acceptance to the organisation, taking into account its ancient history with arabian horses.
