OC is a growing pain for some young horses
Among the most recognized orthopedic diseases that can occur in foals and young horses are juvenile osteoarthritis, which causes joints to degenerate; angular limb deformities, which make a foal look knock-kneed or bow-legged; and a condition called osteochondrosis (OC).

Cracked horse hooves never easy to fix
They often appear without warning and can be notoriously hard to get right. What are the causes and what's the best plan of attack?

Founder and laminitis
Despite intensive investigation, founder is still a poorly understood disease. Though easy to diagnose and usually treatable, this disease has the potential to result in permanent severe lameness making euthanasia the most humane option.

Tying Up: Rhabdomyolysis in Horses
Tying up syndrome is a preferable name to exertional rhabdomyolysis because not all horses that tie up have exercised.

Navicular Disease or Syndrome in Horses
The navicular region is a complicated mix of joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, and synovial bursas. All of these structures can succumb to the known causes of lameness referable to this area.
