(Metall {Olympic Ferro/Ramiro Z} x K. Friedens Ruhe {Fechtor/Fremder}) |
Pedigree:
When looking to purchase a new sire for Kazmere Stud, extensive research was done on proven and performance winning bloodlines that could offer the discerning breeder the opportunity to breed Olympic/World Cup, - Dressage/Showjumping and Eventing horses. However, we also wanted a colt/stallion that had the beauty, temperament and conformation to breed on top quality Show Horses. I believe we have found all these qualities in our new colt.
"There were very high expectations of breeders from Metall, because of his modern pedigree - these expectations were well rewarded. At the Brabant Stallion evaluation of offspring, Metall became the Champion. His foals are long lined and show a lot of quality and refinement. They are built very uphill and have beautiful heads. Their movement show great power in the hind legs and their front legs are very elevated, graceful and catch the eye. The foals are of good size and have supple backs."
Metall is the sire of the young KWPN stallion, Special D, who in 2003 won the Pavo Cup with a score of 84.5 points in the 4 yo section. Metall like his sire Olympic Ferro before him was the winner in his year of the National Stallion Evaluation (Performance testing). Metall is of interest to breeders of both Dressage and Jumping horses because of his type and pedigree.
His talents however were not just for jumping. His impressive career in Dressage is truly inspiring. In 1999 he was the Res. Dutch Champion, before winning Silver at the European Championships in Arnhem and then in Berlin becoming the winner of the World Cup. 2000 saw him as the winner of the World Cup Championships and winning many more Grand Prix's and Kurs at prestigious events throughout Europe. At the Sydney Olympics his dressage was without fault and he won a Silver medal for the Dutch team. Olympic Ferro has also proven himself as a prepotent sire of super progeny. The offspring of Ferro's do extremely well in both dressage and jumping. So far he has 8 approved sons.
Ramiro's offspring compete at the top levels of Show Jumping and Dressage.
FECHTOR, FREMDER & FERDI
Were all German Hanoverian sires. Ferdi and Fremder were known as outstanding Showjumpers with fabulous jumping ability. Ferdi is also the full brother of Ferdl, who won Olympic Gold, Show Jumping. Fechtor was particularly multi talented. Not only did he have natural Dressage and Show Jumping ability, at his first time out Eventing, he placed 2nd in a 2 day event. He was many times Champion Ridden Stallion in open competitions and he loved to Hunt and be driven in Harness - 'A truly versatile stallion'. Fechtor is the sire of Grand Prix Dressage and Show Jumping horses and was also the sire of the '1993 Event Horse of the Year'.
Fechtor, Fremder and Ferdi are all close descendants of one of the all-time great performance sires 'Ferdinand'.
The famous German breeder, Walter Schockemoele, described Ferdinand by saying "In the later history of breeding, there is not another stallion to consistently pass on to his progeny and their progeny, courage, good manners, loyalty and athletic ability".
